Throughout human history?
Throughout human history, death has often been linked to dangerous periods marked by conflict, disease, and natural disasters. One of the most dangerous eras was the Black Death in the 14th century, when the bubonic plague killed an estimated 75-200 million people across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
In more recent times, world wars in the 20th century introduced another level of danger, with death on an industrial scale. World War I and World War II claimed tens of millions of lives through combat, bombings, and genocides.
Natural disasters, from earthquakes to tsunamis and hurricanes, have also brought massive death tolls throughout history. The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, which killed around 230,000 people across several countries, is a stark reminder of nature’s destructive power.
